One thing about doing pages which show Alan in flight, they give me the chance to do odd perspectives. Originally him looking through the window directly was well a boring looking shot, so I changed it so hes looking down into it from above. After making the line art to this, the worst internet pop culture joke struck me. "Ceiling cat is watching".

Now beyond making panel one more complex looking than originally planned, something else happened. I thought the rest of the page would be simple work. Wrong. The coloring job was more complex than normal.

Aw, your colors came out fine! And I love the folded, wrinkled look on Alan's cape...it's something i practice now and then. =)

I'm not sure on this detail so I'm assuming one of two things happened about how his cape was drawn.

When I draw things in rough there are of course many more lines present than later formal lines. Either I saved all the rough lines knowing they worked or I traced over the working rough lines there.

A clear case of rough lines being preserved with this is when he's readying himself to leave the parking garage. The flow lines of the fabric draped near the bottom of the cape and by one foot. I felt the lines shouldn't be emphasized so they stayed unchanged from the first drawing.
