There are a few things to be said for this page.

Readers that know the Iron and Steel-verse from earlier stories know Terry is not fond of dogs. Brain being placed in biting distance of him in the first story. In the second story a police dog used as a puppet by MAD, biting off one of his hands. In his origin of knowing Louis, of them becoming friends. His high school mascot being an African wild dog with the guy wearing the suit being a dickhead to him.

Second remember how quickly the pucas backed off their attack at RAGE's HQ? That's because of that telepathic link they have for sharing information.

Third, this has yet to surface in formal story telling but it appears in Terry's profile in the IG Unlimited forum. His not so high morals from the start come from being raised in the close vicinity of a casino. I figure him shouting "jackpot" would make sense to something being nailed right. ( Graces, how much things are planned out. I've even figured out the name of the casino. This fact bit on him is something I hope to bring up in a short published after this story. )

Also yeah, he has the right to sound a little paranoid at seeing another MAD agent with what he's been going through in this story.

Another thing about this page is the breed of dog the puca changes into. In script I wrote simply 'dog' but knew it would be a black dog with how when a puca is in animal form they always have that hue. Now from personal experience on being around black dogs I automatically think of two. Tyler the family dog I had growing up who was a Cocker Spaniel-something. But also a Newfoundland adopted towards the end of her life. Smokey could knock you down and frankly always reminded me of a bear. I figure when drawing a large black dog to scare Terry, a Newfoundland is the best choice. ... PS: Smokey was a loving animal who to my knowledge never hurt anyone.

Love the "jackpot" line! Obviously, like you said, he must've gambled a lot. The puca wanting to get in close to Terry's face was pretty funny, I too get nervous around some dogs! That fear is negated a bit when I find out they are just getting to know me =)

I'm almost never fearful of dogs, even guard ones. ... In case you are wondering on that comment. I used to deliver door-hangers for Domino's and I had a few encounters in the span of doing that job.
