A special shout out thank you here to a seller on Etsy.
When writing this I had to do tons of historical research. When writing the scene here with the treats, I decided it had to be something very much of the times he'd offer her. I'd never heard of meringue cookies before the research. A meringue based cookie? The thought intrigued me so much I had to try them. No local stores carry them and I didn't feel like driving almost into Cleveland to a Trader Joe's store for them. Gas and not fond of their prices. That lead into online shopping and eventually seeing Etsy's front page results for the cookie. "Geode Meringue Cookies" the odd tasty sight of them tempted me and after looking over the seller's shop, I asked if I could order a sampling of meringue cookies in general. She said yes and after the order a few days later I got them. Meringue cookies are the most lite-melt-in-your-mouth-cookie you will ever eat. There may be a bunch of people selling these cookies home made but I'd like to provide a link here to the Etsy seller's shop for anyone who would like to try her brand of them:
They are also how I had a firm idea how to draw & color them.

The last panel shows how much you care about your work! =) Simple effects, maybe I should try! It's like looking through a camera while filming a movie.

It's my original web authoring work shining through I think why I do panels like that on occasion. My Buck Rogers work was written to act like a TV show.
